A Living Work

Sam Moody, Anouximalous - Light in the Meadow is named after his Grandfather, Sam Moody, Sr. of the Nuxalk Nation.  Sam spent alot of time with his Grandmothers and Grandfathers.  From them and other Elders, he recieved his values, belief's, teachings.

This created a foundation for him to work in Band Administration, Community Economic Development, Welfare Administrator, Community Planning, Program Coordinator and as a Group Facilitator.

Sam spent 6 years in development and facilitation of the R.O.A.R (Reclaiming Our Aboriginal Roots) program, 2 years with the Men's Group of Cariboo Family Enrichment Society and Canim Lake Indian Band.  Since 2010, Sam works for the John Howard Society to provide Sweat Lodge Ceremonies, group and individual facilitation with inmates serving time in the Prince George Corrections Facility.

As a First Nations "Person", Sam understands the generational impacts of first contact, colonization and residential school.  The healing process in his own life is influential in his working with others.  He makes his schedule so he is available for First Nations communities.
